Glock 48 Guide Rod - Made from super-alloy, 17-4 stainless steel and heat treated to H900. 17-4 is a nickel chromium grade of stainless steel with high impact strength, good corrosion resistance and high fatigue strength.
It is the strongest guide rod available, stronger than any other guide rod material option and more reliable in extreme environmental conditions.
Glock 48 Guide Rod
The key to Hive Technologies guide rod performance lies in the heat treatment. Making it much less flexible than leading competitors' guide rods. Less flex results in straighter firing and more accurate repeat target acquisition. Repeated firings will keep our familiar rod straighter and more reliable, and the added weight makes recoil easier to control with less muzzle flip.

The OEM rod weighs 12.2 grams, (.43 oz.). Equivalent to 1 - 124 grain 9mm JHP cartridges.
I got a "G43 Reduced Power Tungsten Guide Rod" for my G48. The G48 is already 2 ounces heavier than the G43X, and that's all 2 ounces at the muzzle of the gun. So I didn't need much weight.
I bought it because the OEM guide rod looked very flimsy and mine looked like it was bent at the end. It is a solid, and three times as heavy. I choose the short power spring, as I am already 67 years old and intend to carry this gun for the rest of my life.
It works great, it was already easier to rack the G48 than my S&W 9, 2.0, Shield (no EZ), now it's easier than ever.
